Since we opened our doors in May 2002, Presort Solutions has quickly grown into one of the largest presort companies in the Midwest. Our growth over the past five years is attributed to hard work, dedicated employees, our outstanding customers and a philosophy that Service is Everything.

As we celebrated our five year anniversary in May 2007, we also celebrated with a move into our new facility located at 1020 Frontenac Road in Naperville! Our new facility is approximately 100,000 square ft. which will allow for increased volumes and additional equipment to be installed for commingling.

In addition, effective May 14, 2007, the USPS put into effect another rate increase. This rate case not only raised the postage rates for all mailers, but also implemented new rules and regulations for many different types of mail. The new USPS pricing reflects changes in their operations and the marketplace to enhance efficiency within the USPS and makes sure that all types of mail cover their overall costs. The USPS also introduced the 41-cent Forever Stamp. The postage value of a Forever Stamp will always be the First Class Mail single-piece, 1-ounce letter rate in effect on the day of use.

Delivery Point Validation (DPV)
Effective August 1, 2007, the postal service has mandated that delivery points in postnet barcodes be validated to ensure there is an actual delivery location that matches the address on the mail piece. Currently, addresses within a range are acceptable to receive automation discounts on mail. Addresses with specific suite numbers, box numbers or insufficient address items may not qualify under the new requirements.

On average, mailers have reported that 2-3% of their mail files may no longer qualify for automation rates. Many of our customers are looking at ways to improve the address quality of their mail and verifying the current formatting of their files. After August 1, 2007, you may experience a slight increase in the volume of mail that has been rejected and see additional upgrades.

For prebarcoded mail, please update and certify your lists now and utilize other postal products such as Address Element Correction or Address Change Service.
